South Jersey's Musical Storyteller and
Pine Barrens Artisan
Come on "Down the Pines"!
Meet Paul Evans Pedersen Jr., a down-to-earth South Jersey native and grandfather of ten, residing in Malaga, NJ, (Franklin Twp., Gloucester County) with his wife, Cookie. Paul is a man of simple pleasures who loves his roots, people, and the art of storytelling.
As a singer/songwriter, screenwriter, author, and glass jewelry artisan, Paul's talents are as diverse as the Pine Barrens landscape he calls home. With a knack for crafting tunes since the tender age of 3, he's a seasoned musician, playing drums since 12 and guitar since 14. Paul's music has garnered recognition, earning him four Grammy nominations in 2008 and an additional seven in 2009.
His popular albums, including "Endlessly," "Agua Noir," "Manhattan Grits," and the 2014 release "Lines On The Pines," showcase his deep connection to the South Jersey Pine Barrens. A highlight in his career was being featured on CNN's "Anthony Bourdain-Parts Unknown" and the YouTube sensation "Sam & Colby" in 2021.
Beyond music, Paul is an accomplished author, with published works such as "Required Restroom Readings" and "The Legendary Pine Barrens-New Tales From Old Haunts." As a former reporter and columnist for publications like The Weekly Retrospect, The Camden County Firefighter, The Hammonton Gazette, Shore Local Magazine and the Vineland Daily Journal, he's no stranger to the power of words.
Paul's creativity extends to jewelry making, with his "Pine Barrens Diamonds" available in various retail shops across south and central Jersey. Fashioned from discarded glass chunks he uncovers at historic glassworks sites in the Pine Barrens, his jewelry tells a unique tale of the region's rich history.
With a warm personality, love for community, and an unwavering passion for his craft, Paul Evans Pedersen Jr. embodies the spirit of South Jersey, weaving stories and melodies that resonate with the heart of his beloved Pine Barrens.

The Storyteller
THE JERSEY DEVIL - INTRODUCTION
Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr., "The Jersey Devil Hunter", takes you back through the Pine Barrens of South Jersey to the infamous "Blue Hole", where legends and stories persist about it being a known haunt of the Jersey Devil, who is said to swim and hunt in and around the Blue Hole. This episode features Paul's song, "The Hole", from his "AGUA NOIR" CD
The Jersey Devil Hunter let's off a little political steam as he searches for the Jersey Devil in Parvin State Park. Though not "technically" Pine Barrens per say, this part of South Jersey is just as densely wild as the Barrens. At the end of the video, something is "knocking" at our intrusion into the area.
In this episode, we introduce our new theme song "The Jersey Devil Hunter" (special thanks to Jimmy Heffernan) as we search through the Winslow Wildlife Management Area in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey. As we scan over a pond, something pokes it's head out of the trees and watches me. Look in my side-view mirror at 22.25!! WHAT is it???
Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr., "The Jersey Devil Hunter", takes you back through the swampy, watery back country of deep, coastal South Jersey to the infamous "Menantico Ponds Wildlife Management Area", where legends and stories persist about it being a known haunt of the Jersey Devil, possibly a family of Big Foot creatures, several reported Rougaru sightings, and whatever else roams the lonely and sinister back woods country of swampy Cumberland County, South Jersey. The entire area was closed off to the public over the summer of 2022 by the State of NJ for reasons yet to be given, after very strange and troubling screams and sightings were reported by multiple visitors.
